The COVID-19-Pandemic has uncovered major deficiencies in the registration and documentation of mortality events. This includes delays in the registration, the lack of a centralised mortality register, and limited access to detailed data for researchers and the public. This Working Paper discusses these deficiencies and possible solutions.
