From April 18 to 21, Sergey Timonin from the Australian National University was joining our team to intensify our cooperation in the field of European mortality gradients.
Sergey Timonin is a Research Fellow at the ANU College of Arts and Social Sciences in Canberra, Australia. He received his PhD in Human Geography from Moscow State University. His research mainly focuses on the field of geographical variation in mortality and health.
During his stay at BiB, we intensified our cooperation in exploring spatial mortality variation in Europe. Furthermore, he presented his current work on Europe’s East-West mortality divide before and after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are looking forward to further strenthening our collaboration.
