From February 13 to 24, Sophie Stroisch from the Universities of Groningen and Oldenburg will be joining our team to explore mortality differences in European cross-border regions.

Sophie Stroisch is a Research Associate at the University of Oldenburg and a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen. She holds a M.Sc. degree in Population Studies from the University of Groningen. Currently, she is writing her PhD thesis on the impact of social and economic context factors on health differences in European cross-border regions. Her thesis is part of the joint project “Comparison of healthcare structures, processes and outcomes in the Northern German and Dutch cross-border region II” (CHARE-GD II) of the universities of Oldenburg and Groningen.

During her stay at BiB, she will be working with our team to explore trends in life expectancy in European cross-border regions between 1992 and 2020.

We are very pleased to welcome Sophie Stroisch to Wiesbaden and wish her a great time!
