On the occasion of its 50th anniversary, the Federal Institute for Population Research (BiB) will host a conference to discuss frontiers in policy-relevant population research from July 3–5, 2023. The deadline for the submission of abstracts is November 25, 2022.
The conference will be organised around three strands that reflect key themes in population research: family and fertility, migration and mobility and mortality.
We would like to draw your particular attention to Strand 3 “Mortality Trends and Future Prospects for Longevity in Times of Great Uncertainty”. This strand, linked to our ERC-funded REDIM project, welcomes submissions from a wide range of topics, including, but not limited to, cross-country analyses of all-cause and cause-specific mortality, spatial analyses of mortality trends and patterns, excess mortality due to COVID-19, mortality determinants and risk factors, and mortality differentials by socioeconomic status.
We welcome submissions of abstracts of 300-500 words to these thematic strands via the conference website (see the link on the right).
In Strand 3, limited financial support is available for participants from Eastern European countries. Please request such support while submitting your abstract.
Deadline for the submission of abstracts: November 25, 2022.
