The mental and physical health of family members is of great importance for family well-being. It also has a strong influence on the organisation and stability family life, the fulfilment of family functions such as the upbringing and education of children
and on family intergenerational support. At the same time, families and family well-being in turn determine health, social support and resilience.
This project investigates the interaction between family and various aspects of health, mental health such as depression and anxiety disorders, health behaviour such as physical activity and physical activity and nutrition, as well as risk and resilience factors across the life course.
One focus is on analysing population groups, for example differentiated by gender by gender, age and socio-economic status, as well as contextual factors, in order to identify particularly to identify particularly vulnerable population groups. The results will be used to analyse the describe the health situation of young people and families, identify suboptimal developments and to identify starting points for the development of strategies for health promotion of families and prevention at population level. In this context, the cross-sectional perspective of a consideration of well-being andwell-being and health plays a particularly important role.
The analyses are based on different data sources: FReDA, pairfam, SOEP and Oxford Stringency Index.
