Description of Work

National data will be harmonised and on the basis of the databases of the national PPAS surveys, the international PPAS standard re-code file, in the format of an SPSS database will be set up by the work package leader. In order to achieve data harmonisation of national data bases drawn from questionnaires in different languages of the participating countries, the work package leader will also work ‘intra-muros’ with some national teams at partners location site on average two to three days.

The corresponding standard PPAS codebook and guidelines regarding the use of the variables will be elaborated. They will serve as tools for the international comparative analyses.

The international PPAS standard re-code file and the accompanying codebook and guidelines will be made available to the DIALOG partnership. At the end of the project it will made available to the general scientific community in its final form.

The international comparative analyses will be based among others on the application of several advanced multivariate statistical methods. In order to streamline and upgrade the statistical analyses of the comparative studies, guidelines will be prepared on the type of multivariate statistical methods to be used and on their presentation in the reports.

Standardised recoded variables and composite indicators for various topical analyses will be elaborated and added to the international database.

Tables and figures will be produced for the final report and monograph according to the standardised format.
